The resulting transistors show exceptional high gain performance coupled with very low saturation voltage. Ideal for applications to control medium to high-power electronics such as motors, solenoids, or 1 watt or higher LEDs. The TIP120 can switch maximum 60V at peak currents of 8A (not continuously) and a continuous current of 5A, with a DC gain of approximately 1000.
