Synthetic Opal is actually preferred to natural opal for jewelry items. Natural Opal is not particularly well-suited to being used in jewelry since it's a relatively soft opal stone, breaks easily and has to be protected from sunlight and many chemicals. Please note that the clutch or butterfly back design may vary depending on available supplies.

Product care
Clean with warm water only then immediately dry with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid contact with perfumes, body lotions, conditioners, hairsprays or any other chemical that may coat, dull or otherwise harm the gemstones. Store your jewelry items in a soft cloth pouch or jewelry case so they do not touch other pieces in your collection. We recommend having your jewelry checked, inspected and cleaned on a regular basis by a professional jeweler.
