When a local fortune teller, Madame Claire, predicts a robbery at a local jewelry store, Veronica is hired by the store owner's niece, Abby. Agreeing to a few quick nights of surveillance, and asking around on the streets, Veronica is certain she can quickly put the case behind her. But when Gina's Gems is burglarized as Madame Claire predicted, followed within days of another jewelry store burglary, Veronica finds herself with few clues but lots of suspects. Though Veronica is not a believer in the foretelling of future events by palm-reading, crystal balls or tarot cards, Madame Claire does seem to have a knack for accurately predicting events. Along with her old friends and Abby, Veronica must investigate all of the suspects. Is Madame Claire really a Psychic, or is she behind the thefts? What about the store owner? Is this simply another case of insurance fraud? Once again, Veronica's wise guy attitude puts her in danger and forces her to question her future plans. Perhaps its time to ask the real expert. What does Madame Claire's crystal ball predict for Veronica's future?
