They are constructed with 3 layers of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with an acid-free paper backing encased between 2 of the sheets. The HDPE is translucent so the front of the sleeve is see through. The acid-free paper neutralizes migrating acids as well as absorbs moisture. The HDPE resists static build up and protects against abrasion. Compare to MOFI sleeves.
