We go beyond Fair Trade by promoting people's ownership of their futures.

Our model is based on working with sustainable indigenous resources and nurturing women as the principal economic actors.

Profit incentives from the fair partnership fund community health and education projects, as well as infrastructure to increase the community's capacity to produce marketable products. Atacora collaborates with local government, NGOs and village groups on co-created microprojects that improve the living and working conditions of communities in Benin.

Our Quality Difference

Because our products are lightly processed using traditional methods, our levels of vitamins, essential nutrients and purity are unmatched.

Harvest is done BY HAND with HOMEMADE KNIVES. Harvesters make sheaves and set them to dry. They construct a platform where adolescents stomp the sheaves to remove the grain. It is then winnowed in traditional flat basketry.

It is a gluten-free grain, making it loved by the celiac community. Not to mention it contains many amino acids and is also a plant based source of Magnesium, Zinc, Thiamine (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Calcium, and Phosphorous!
