Ordinary canning jar rings are steel - they quickly rust, taint your sprouts and stain the sprouting screens. Plastic lids can be hard to screw on, may not last long and could contaminate your sprouts with BPA or other plasticizers. These PURE STAINLESS STEEL lids are DURABLE and SCREW ON EASILY. They are DISHWASHER SAFE and can be sterilized in boiling water. Some sprouting screens have a metal band around the edge that can trap food particles. These screens have no edge band for EASY CLEANING and FOOD SAFETY. The screens easily separate from the rings for QUICK CLEANING. Brush them off, pop them into the dishwasher and you're done! The universal screen mesh size is great for almost all sprouting seeds; for extra small seeds, the screens can be doubled.
