Manitoba Harvest Hemp oil soft gels are a convenient way to include hemp oil on the go or while travelling. Hemp oil is a great way to get omegas, including the EFA known as gamma-linoleic acid (GLA). When it comes to hemp foods, we want to know as much as possible and be involved at every level - from seed to shelf. Luckily we are. Our manufacturing plant has achieved the highest level of global certification in food safety and quality (BRC Grade A). What is hemp you ask? Simply put, hemp is a super plant. At the top part of the hemp plant you will find the hard hemp seed. This small seed “seeds" nutritiously delicious products like Hemp Hearts, hemp protein powder, and hemp oil. Hemp has been around for centuries and has played an instrumental role in shaping our continent. Settlers were given free land if they grew hemp. The Declaration of Independence draft was written on hemp paper. While hemp is a species of Cannabis sativa, it is not the same as marijuana. Hemp will NOT cause a psychoactive effect nor will our products cause a false positive drug test. Largely thanks to Manitoba Harvest co-founders' advocacy efforts, hemp was demystified and Industrial Hemp was legalized in Canada in 1998.
