Product Review
**Please Note** Due to the fact that copper is a much softer metal than steel, it does have the tendency to bend more easily than a typical nail. It is recommended to first drill a pilot hole slightly smaller than that of the width of the nail.

Kill the stump the easy way...With Science!Simply hammer these copper nails in to your unwanted tree and let Mother Nature do the killing for you! Using our Extra Long Pure Copper Stump Killer Spikes is one of the easiest and cheapest ways you can kill and remove a tree or stump.
Why can't I just use regular copper roofing nails? This is by far the most common question we get and it's a fair question. The nails you find at the hardware store simply don't get the job done for a couple of reasons.
• They are not long enough (typically 3/4"-1.5" long)
• Typical hardware store nails are only copper PLATED not solid copper
How many nails do I need?
Most trees and stumps will require 10 or less nails hammered in fully and spaced evenly around the base of the tree (about a foot off the ground). However, with very large trees (+3 feet wide) you will need a minimum of 10 nails, and you may find it necessary to remove a section of the bark to expose the pulp of the tree. This will allow for proper penetration of the nail. (see photo)
Tip: You may also want to drive a nail in to each exposed root near the tree. This helps to quicken the process of the tree's decay. Depending upon the hardness of the tree and with copper being much softer metal than steel, it may be necessary to first drill a small pilot hole in the stump to prevent the nail from bending.
