About polypropylene plastic: Each tube capacity: 2.5 ounces which is approx. 5 tablespoons. This plastic is popular because it is rigid and strong. It is BPA-free and food-safe and is the kind of plastic often used for yogurt containers and margarine tubs and even "microwave-safe" plastic containers. It is heat-tolerant [to 240 degrees F] and won't warp when put in the dishwasher (top rack). However, if you put this in the dishwasher, you may have trouble with getting water out of the inside of the container.
