This blank is laser cut out of 1095 cold roll steel in an annealed state, meaning that it has a softened temper, is not hardened, and can easily have an edge ground into it. Our blanks have no edge of them after we laser cut them and still need to be hardened in order for it to be a knife ready for a handle. This is a knife maker's blank. We provide you with a laser cut profile, saving you time grinding out the knife shape, but it still allows you to put your own edge on and harden it to your satisfaction.
