This is a study of the leadership challenges faced by those working to advance global educational opportunities. The book discusses how the dramatic expansion in educational opportunities which has taken place over the last century was the result of a global movement committed to advancing freedom and equality. This movement is now challenged by an emerging populist strand which will simultaneously challenge the institutions of democracy, public education and higher education.
