Product Review
Add natural beauty to your home or office with air plants! These plants don't need soil to grow, so they can flourish in many different environments. Additionally, they require only a moderate amount of light and only need watering about once a week, making them the lowest-maintenance plants available! They make excellent gifts for house-warming or other occasions, and work wonderfully as desktop decorations for your office or home desk.
The Giant Magnusiana air plant features long and wispy, delicate-looking leaves of a silvery green color. The leaves grow out from the base to form a spherical shape, making the plant resemble a pin cushion. We are thrilled to offer this unique air plant at a truly impressive size of 5 to 6 inches in diameter. This plant's maturity and larger size means that it is already several years old and has even less care requirements than smaller air plants. Large air plants can tolerate less watering and less lighting than their smaller counterparts.
If a Magnusiana air plant is exposed to full sunlight, the leaves tend to turn a gorgeous maroon red color. During its blooming period, this plant will produce a long, maroon-colored spike straight out of the center that will quickly extend far beyond the leaves. The spike then releases stunning, bright purple blooms.
We recommend keeping air plants where they receive at least a moderate amount of sunlight or artificial home/office lighting. Magnusiana air plants can tolerate more sunlight than most other air plant species; 65% - 80% sunlight is ideal for these plants during the warm months. Magnusiana can be brought inside during the winter months in cold climates. The optimal way to water these air plants is to soak them in water for 2 hours once per week, or alternatively to mist them with a water sprayer a few times a week. If the leaves of your air plants become soft or pale in color, the plants are too dry and should be misted or watered more often.
