Effortlessly cut 1/2-inch external and internal threads in wood to create a clamp, jig, toy, furniture, fixture, or novelty item with the DCT Wood Dowel Thread Tap Die, 1/2 Inch x 8 TPI - Threading Tool Kit, Thread Box and Steel Tap for 0.5" Threads. This threadbox and tap is designed to allow easy chip clearance and a tight-fitting, strong wood thread. Straight-grain hardwood dowels that are round (not oval) work best. Simply use a 7/16-inch drill bit to drill a starter hole for tapping a 1/2-inch thread, oil the dowel, and press down as you turn. Drill bit and oil lubricant recommended, not included.
