Switch to PlaySAFE to save money and time. We make melting ice (and hurting paws) obsolete by using a liquid to stop ice before it starts. Lightly apply PlaySAFE up to 48 hours before snowfall to protect decks, steps, walkways and drives -- then just clear away the snow. You'll be finished before the first pellet of ice melt hits the ground. One gallon of PlaySafe will treat 2,000 sq. feet of decks, steps, sidewalks, and the like. To melt ice on the same area would take almost 100 pounds of messy ice melt pellets + lots of time in the cold on the slippery ice you need to remove.
