New functions of HDMI 2.0V:
1.HDMI Ethernet Channel，HEC
This version will add a data channel to support high-speed and bidirectional communication. The interconnect device that supports this function can send and receive data through 100 Gigabit Ethernet to satisfy any IP based application. The HDMI Ethernet channel will allow Internet based access to Internet based HDMI devices and other HDMI devices without the need to connect another Ethernet cable. The new feature will also provide a connection platform that allows content sharing between HDMI devices.
The HDMI Ethernet network channel technology integrates video, audio and data streams in a single HDMI cable, and has the first class signal quality and convenience of the HDMI connection, and the powerful and flexible function of the home entertainment network. The HDMI Ethernet channel adds a dedicated data channel in the HDMI connection to provide up to 100Mbc bidirectional high-speed network functions.
2.Audio Return Channel，ARC
TVs with built-in tuner and HDMI interface can upload audio data to surround sound system without using other audio cables.When HDTV receives audio and video content directly, the new channel allows HDTV to transmit audio directly to the A/V amplifier receiver through the HDMI line without another cable.
3.3D function of HDMI
The new specification defines a universal 3D format and resolution for HDMI devices, standardization of the input and output parts of the home 3D system, and a video stream with a maximum support of two 1080p resolutions.
4.Supporting higher resolution
The HDMI device supports HD resolution of 4K x 2K, four times the current 1080p, and can transmit content at the same resolution with many digital home theater. Specific format: 3840 x 2160 24Hz/25Hz/30Hz; 4096 x 2160 24Hz.
5.Supporting the color space
HDMI technology will support color space designed for digital cameras, including sYCC601
