Why does my compass show the wrong direction?

Due to the metal in the flint scraper and stick, the direction of the compass can be affected. When using the compass, separate the male and female ends of the buckle and the compass will return to the correct direction. We have checked the direction on all compasses before shipment. If you should find that your compass does not work properly after following the steps above, please contact our customer care. We can issue a new compass in place of a defective one.
