An air pump aerates the water and improves water circulation in your tank, and it is a good way to increase surface area and improve circulation in water.

Choosing the right air pump is not so difficult, you might have to choose it according to the depth of your aquarium and the pressure you need for the ornament (i.e. the deeper the tank, the greater pressure and wattage is needed for a pump to work effectively).

Installation:
Keep in mind that this air pump is not meant to be submerged.

There is two ways to install your air pump.

1. Install air pump without valve.
You can always put the aquarium air pump in a closet or cabinet, make sure that the pump itself is always higher up than the highest point of the aquarium water so that keeps the back pressure under control.

2. Install air pump with valve.
You can place air pump anywhere as long as a check valve installed that helps to prevent shocks and damage due to power failure.

Attention:
1. The air pump is Non-waterproof or submersible, please keep it away from water.
2. Place something soft like towel or mat under the pump which helps to reduce noise.
