The 2017 Formula One World Championship kicked off in Australia on the 26th March, concluding in Abu Dhabi on the 26th November. Brazilian Felipe Massa re-signed with Williams before the start of the season, postponing his retirement from the sport. With his best finishes early in the season at Australia and Bahrain, Massa was unlucky not to claim a win, with bad luck stopping him in Azerbaijan. He finished the Championship in 11th place.
