As far as collecting the elements go the only thing that is remarkable about samarium is that it's the cheapest of the fifteen in the rare earths group to acquire. Its one major application is for making strong magnets when alloyed with cobalt. We stock pure samarium in plate form which was cut from a "bed" of solidified samarium and exhibits an interesting mottled surface texture on one side. Each square is approximately 18x18x10mm and weighs 20-25g.
