What is Cordyceps?
Cordyceps is one of the most interesting supplements in existence. It's classified as a fungi, a medicinal mushroom, an adaptogen and of course, a super food. Cordyceps rose to fame after the 1993 olympics when one of the Chinese Coaches claimed Cordyceps was responsible for the superb long distance times the female track team posted. Most notably was Wang Junxia who had a groundbreaking 10,000m time that stood until 2016.
Cordyceps sinensis vs Cordyceps militaris
One of the most common misconceptions is that Cordyceps sinensis (The Caterpillar Fungus) is the superior version of Cordyceps. This simply isn’t true as Cordyceps militaris has been found to produce as much as 90x more cordycepin and overall has equal or better therapeutic potential. Not only that but there is virtually no Cordyceps sinensis for sale in North America as it costs upwards of $20,000 / KG. If you see a product labeled as Cordyceps sinensis, it is more than likely mislabeled.

As noted above, the most common use of Cordyceps is it’s potential effects on athletic performance, stamina and energy.

Cordyceps may activate pro inflammatory responses and boost the immune system.

There is a study that says Cordyceps “Improved the quality of life of the patients by reducing asthma-related symptoms and asthma onset frequency and severityâ€
Why a Dual Extract?
When it comes to Mushroom Extracts it is essential you find one that is dual hot water and alcohol extract. All clinical trials have used this type of mushroom extract and therefore any mushrooms that are not a dual hot water and alcohol extract have not been proven to have any efficacy.
