C.S. Osborne Copper Rivets & Burrs. 1 lb. pack package of CS Osborne 3/4" Long Solid Copper Rivets and Burrs. Heavy duty, rust proof permanent fasteners. They are easily set with Osborne No.169-8 rivet setter. Made in USA. Size Number : 14 Diameter under head (inches) : 0.102 Overall length : 3/4" Approx. number of rivets & burrs per lb. : 314 Tool to be use : Osborne No. 169-8 Instructions : Push the rivet through the hole then turn the material over. Place burr on rivet, then use the rivet setting tool's straight hole to drive the burr down tight against the material. Cut the rivet off close to the burr with side or end nippers. Do not cut off flush with the burr, but leave about 1/16 of an inch above the burr. The hole on the side of the rivet setter can be used to dislodge any waste that is wedged into the tool. Place the concave recess of setter on the burr. Hold perpendicular and strike the tool forcefully, turning to the left then right as you strike. This spreads the end of the rivet over the burr, simultaneously rounding its end. A few extra blows from the # 57 riveting hammer can be used to flatten the rivet end a bit, if desired.
