After watching documentaries like Plastic Planet, I was shocked how plastic effects animals. I decided to change my lifestyle. I started growing my food (indoors & outdoors) to reduce plastic and started my EcoPeaceful zero-waste business in 2012 to manufacture organic, natural & non-toxic products packaged without plastic, and most eco-friendly way possible.
DIY sprouts are super healthy to add to salads and reduces plastic packaging, and you can easily grow sprouts a home. My first sprouting kit was a DIY kit: plastic screen (probably toxic), mason jar with tin metal band. I switched from plastic to cheesecloth, then burlap, but neither was completely sustainable, since they needed replacing after a few uses - falling apart and difficulty fully cleaning & sterilizing and the tin bands gets rusty. Next I bought 2-piece stainless steel sprouting sets, but the lids looked similar to my rusting rings making them an inconvenience and time consuming identifying the stainless steel (non-magnetic) bands with a magnet. All this inspired me to manufacture custom 2-in-1 combo sprouting & storage sets with engraved bands that eliminates confusion with rusting bands.
Instead of transferring and storing your sprouts in ziplock plastic bags, you can reduce waste, save money and time, and help the environment, by sprouting and then storing in the same mason jar in the fridge or freezer, by quickly changing tops from the mesh sprouter insert to the solid storage insert with airtight silicone gasket.

Does not trap water like plastic lids. ENGRAVED/STAMPED BAND/RING - 304 18/8 STAINLESS STEEL: Clearly distinguishes and helps avoid confusing with original Ball or Kerr metal tin bands that rust & spoil your sprouts. The band screws onto wide mouth mason jars, from half pint (8 oz) to half gallon (64 oz).
