Why choose full grain leather over genuine leather or top grain leather?
Leather materials are classified and ranked based on the thickness, strength, and authenticity.

Level 1 = Genuine Leather
Genuine leather has had an artificial grain applied to its surface then sprayed over with dye or stain to give the fake grain a more natural appearance.

Level 2 = Top Grain Leather
Top grain has a split layer typically cut from the top of the hide which will have its surface buffed and sanded to leave the leather free of blemishes and scars. The results however is a thinner grain resulting in decreased durability compared to full grain leather.

Level 3 = Full Grain Leather
Full grain is a piece of leather that hasn't been sanded or buffed and has the complete grain of the hide intact. Because it includes the entire thickness of the skin, full grain is the most durable and resistant to wear.

Full grain as previously mentioned contains the entirety of the hide. By coating it with saddle leather wax coating, the leather fibers are further strengthened resulting in an unrivaled durability level above non-waxed full grain leather.
