Sandpaper is an abrasive material that is often used at construction sites or furniture workshops.
You can imagine it as plane having several teeth which rub on the surface of woods, metals, plastics or even glass. Its function and kind depend on how many "teeth" or grits per square inch the sandpaper has.

Aluminum oxide is the most common abrasive in woodworking sandpaper. It works well on a number of materials, including bare wood, painted surfaces, and metal.
In its most basic form, this furnace-produced mineral does not fracture easily. Instead, it tends to wear down until it becomes too dull to cut efficiently.
