Hélène Grimaud's new album, Memory, is an exploration of mindfulness, not in an autobiographical or programmatic sense, but as the state of consciousness common to us all, through music. Grimaud brings together French piano favorites from Satie and Debussy with Chopin, Rachmaninov, and Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, as well as a brand-new piano version of "Breathing Light," one of Grimaud's favorite pieces by frequent collaborator and fellow artist, Nitin Sawhney.
