The output resolution is determined by the console, not the cable. The original Xbox is capable of progressive output at 480 and 720 and interlaced output at 1080 (480p, 720p, and 1080i respectively). That said, only a handful of original Xbox games were produced that have optional/adjustable video resolutions, so your best case scenario for HD output is 1080i using one of those few games.
