The DC96-00882C idler pulley assembly kit includes an idler arm and idler pulley. The assembly sits between the motor and drum and maintains tension on the drive belt so that the belt turns and the dryer's drum spins. The main reason you'd need to replace the idler pulley is if the bearing went bad and ruined the shaft.
