PenaShield is a ready-to-use formula that can be sprayed or brushed on raw wood. It is a unique patented preservative that penetrates the wood, delivering long-lasting protection. PenaShield will not stain or discolor wood; and once dry, can be painted or treated with a water sealer, stained or varnished like normal wood. The active ingredient in PenaShield is a borate mineral salt which sets PenaShield apart from competitors in that the mineral salt will not break down over time like other synthetic chemicals. Whenever you're working with wood, whether it's projects or repairs, always use PenaShield to protect the wood. Kills and prevents wood rot, decay, fungi, termites, carpenter ants, and wood destroying beetles. PenaShields active ingredient is a borate mineral salt that will not break down over time, delivering effective, long-term protection for your wood. Depending on porosity and texture, one gallon of PenaShield will treat 150-250 sq. ft. of wood. For indoor wood, PenaShield will last the life of the wood. For outdoor wood, PenaShield will last as long as an applied water repellant is maintained. If the wood is not sealed, a reapplication of PenaShield will be needed every 1-5 years. Wood 1-inch or thicker should be treated twice. Theres no staining or discoloration with PenaShield, after the wood as dried, you can paint, stain, or varnish the wood as normal. PenaShield is safe!
