Operation Modes:The active capacitive stylus supports three operation modes.
1.Working mode: When the tip of a stylus is pressed against a screen and pressure keeps changing, the stylus is in working mode.
2.Sleep mode: When pressure doesn't change for 2 minutes later, the stylus will be in sleep mode.
3.Hover mode: When the tip is less than 5mm away from a screen, a cursor shows on the screen, then the stylus wakes up from sleep mode and ready for use.

How to replace the Refill?
1.Use the tools in the package to gently rotate and pull out the refill on the Surface pen;
2:Find the new refill you need to replace in the package, using your hand, gently insert the refill into the pen;
3.Complete the replacement.

Important Note:Follow the user manual to insert the battery included(Note the battery positive and negative electrode.)
