It's been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who's still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
- This movie delivers 10 fold. Has exciting action with insane stunts. Also thought it had an Interesting story that played with formula, while staying true to the mythos. Visuals & production values are through the roof.
- "Fallen Kingdom" is a more interesting, and less obvious, story than the usual Tyrannosaurus romps, which tend to be death-defying games of hide-and-seek.
- As is the "Jurassic" tradition, a bigger, sexier dinosaur is introduced. Its name, which sounds like a new fusion restaurant in the Village, is Indoraptor - a combo of the last film's Indominus rex and the velociraptor. He's cool, sure, but T-Rex is still king.
- Regardless, it's nice to see the series back on track. For 20 years it reduced itself to lunkheaded horror and Tea Leoni shrieking to the sky at the expense of its most essential element - the wonderment of seeing a living, breathing dinosaur.
- In making even the most vicious creatures more than just hungry, hungry dinos, the aging franchise has rediscovered its inner child. And ours.
