**The difference between small and large for the low brass is the diameter of the shank on the mouthpiece. Most beginners/students start with a small bore trombone. Large bore trombones often have a valve with a thumb trigger. If you are purchasing this for a student who is using the same instrument they started with, it will most often be a small!** These clip on accessories make for a fun gift for musicians of any age!
