Some advices:
Here are all the tools you will need:
1.A plastic pry bar or trim removal tool
2.A tiny slot head screw driver
3.A phillips,or star head screwdriver
4.A 10 millimeter socket and ratchet

These are the areas where you will need to work on the door panel in order to get it off.

There are star head screws holding it down.And also the window winder,if you have a manual window.

The part needs to be replaced when your door closes shut without staying open.For example a light breeze of wind may slam your door shut,or hit your leg.That is not good.The part is also known as a door check,or door stopper,or door saty,or door checker.
