The Injector Pressure Regulator (IPR) Valve regulates the oil bypass circuit of the high pressure oil pump. It is an electromagnetic valve that opens and closes to allow high pressure oil into the injectors. This enables the PCM to control fuel delivery by increasing the speed in which the IPR valve operates thus, being a critical component in your vehicle system.
If you are experiencing no or hard starting when the engine is hot or after stalling and usually starts when it is cold or your vehicle is idling erratically or jerking then you may have a problem with your IPR valve.
