The synthetic rubber used in the creation of silicone bakeware is based on the formulation of naturally occurring rubber, not on a petroleum product. Plastic is based on carbon at the molecular. Thus, technically, silicone is not a plastic product.

Tips for Successful Baking:
1. Wash pans thoroughly before first use. Warm soap and water clean-up is easy.
2. Follow the manufacturer's maximum heat ratings.
3. Pans are hot to touch while in the oven but cool down quickly; use hot pads to remove them.
4. Using a cookie sheet underneath will provide stability even for smaller pans.
5. Place filled silicone molds either on a metal muffin tin or baking sheet for stability during baking.
6. Do not use knives or sharp objects-they could damage your pans.
7. Never use on an open flame or on stovetop burners.
