Pure Logwood Dye Powder, perfect for trap dye!

1.76oz/50g of Pure Logwood Dye Powder, also known as blackwood, bloodwood tree, bluewood, campeachy tree, campeachy wood, campeche logwood, campeche wood, Jamaica wood, logwood or logwood tree.

Logwood was used for a long time as a natural source of dye. Logwood chips are still used as an important source of haematoxylin, which is used in histology for staining.

Logwood is a versatile, natural dye widely used on textiles and paper. The extract can be used as a pH indicator!

Eggs colored with logwood can be painted with lemon juice, which then changes the color of the eggs resulting in really interesting patterns and effects.

The logwood dye is extracted from the heartwood of logwood trees that come from Haiti.

Logwood's main use is for dyeing textiles and leather, but it is also used to produce haematoxylin. Logwood is an easy dye to use, producing violets, greys and blacks.
