What are the Benefits of Shrimp Leaves?
Seemingly simple, Shrimp leaves are actually one of the most hardworking vegetation in your tank, providing a whole slew of benefits to your shrimp. They create the ideal environment for sick shrimp to heal and for healthy shrimp to thrive and breed. These nutritional food sources enhance shrimp's color, accelerate your shrimp's healing rate, balance the pH level of your water and provide shelter and entertainment. You will start to notice your adult and baby shrimp interacting with these leaves the day they are introduced.
How do I use the Shrimp leaves?
The SunGrow Giant Shrimp Catappa Leaves are incredibly easy to use. Always rinse before use, even after boiling or soaking. By the way, a "post-boil soak" in fresh water is a recommended step too.
Depending on the size of your shrimp tank and the pH level needed, start by dropping a few leaves into your tank. You can always remove leaves or add more as per the requirement. If you have a variety of tanks, you can use full leaves in larger tanks and tear the leaves into smaller pieces for one to five-gallon tanks.
Why is my water turning brown?
After a few days, you will notice your shrimp tank water turning a light brown color; this is nothing but the creation of tropical environment required by shrimps. Their characteristic tea color appearance, lower pH levels and have healing properties. Remove the leaves after a few weeks when they start to disintegrate.
