This Tailgate Shock Assist kit will provide for the safe and smooth operation of your F150's tailgate for the life of your truck. When installed, the gas-operated shock will use its compression to support the tailgate when opened and will provide for a smooth and controlled drop of the tailgate in the fully lowered position. The heavy tailgate does not require external support when being safely lowered by the shock system. When children or older users operate the tailgate, they will be safe from a quickly dropping tailgate, and others around the tailgate will not be at risk of a sudden drop.
