These 3/4" x 3/4" NPT male pipe fittings are made of brass, Which is considered more durable for heavy-duty use. Threads used on these nipples are NPT.
A hose barb fitting connects hose to pipes, typically has a male-threaded end which mates with female threads. The other end of the fitting is a barbed tube, which is inserted into a hose. You could add an adjustable hose clamp to keep the hose from slipping off the barbed tube.
