Product Review
Preparing the skin:
Clean hands prior to patch application. Select an area of the skin preferably on the back of your upper arm that generally stays flat during normal daily activities (no bending or folding). Select a site that is at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) away from an insulin injection site. To prevent discomfort or skin irritation, select a different site other than the one most recently used. In addition, avoid applying the patch to damaged skin, such as scars, moles, stretch marks, or lumps. Clean the application site with an alcoholic wipe. For best results apply the patch at least one hour prior to exercising, swimming or showering. When applying patch after any physical activity or showering, ensure that skin is clean and dry before patch application.
Applying the Patch:
Begin by removing the backing on the adhesive side of the patch (this will be the side without the blue strip).
Next apply the exposed side of the patch with the adhesive directly over the device, at this point peel the remaining backing from the exterior side of the patch. The patch can only be applied once. When applying the patch be careful to avoid touching the adhesive side of the patch.
Finally, rub the patch from the center toward the ends to ensure the patch lies evenly on skin and prevents the ends from peeling away.
Post Application and Daily Use:
Try to avoid wearing clothing that may constantly rub and begin to pull away the ends of the patch. If the patch gets wet simply pat dry with a towel. In the event that an edge of the patch begins to peel off the skin you may trim the edge with scissors to prevent further peeling.
Skin Care:
EZpatch is made of non-latex adhesive material with hypoallergenic silicone glue that is non-cytotoxic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing to the skin. However, some individuals with extremely sensitive skin may want apply a product to minimize skin irritation such as an Itch stopping Gel.
