When we were on vacation, we saw a little girl watching a turtle with a crazy figure 8 shell crying. She was so upset that the turtle had gotten caught in a plastic straw. The little girl continually strokes the turtle and wants to save it. It made us realize that if everyone stopped & thought about our Earth.
Inspired by this scene, we researched some datawe. Americans use 500 million straws every single day, average 1.6 Straws Per Person Per Day, which means that Americans use enough straws to wrap around the Earth 2.5 times every day.
