The intention of this book is to provide information about emotions, which I hope will inspire greater insight into your own personal emotional nature. This information was developed in over ten years of leading Sedona Institute seminars, which present a specific technique to let go of stressful feelings. This material is still a major part of the Sedona Institute Basic Course. While there are exercises included which I believe will allow you to begin mastering your emotions, the book is not intended to replace anything you're already doing that you feel is constructive and helpful for you. Additionally, it is not meant to be a substitute for seeking competent professional help if you should decide that you need it. No book can take the place of your attendance at a good seminar, or personal contact with a resource you find helpful, such as a minister, priest, rabbi or therapist (if those are things you want to do). However, I truly believe this book can be a wonderful supplement to any discipline, therapy or counseling. After you've read it, you can continue to refer to it as your own personal guidebook. You may want to read again the chapters that are most interesting to you or try some of the suggested ways of helping yourself out of negative feelings. Allow yourself to start enjoying your life. I believe that once you begin to understand your feelings, you'll see that you don't have to be the victim of them anymore - and that can make all the difference.
