Edgar Rice Burroughs was an American author best known for writing the classic Tarzan and John Carter stories. Burroughs was a prolific writer in many different genres and many of his books have been made into films. The Warlord of Mars is the third novel in the John Carter series. The book picks up right where The Gods of Mars ended with John Carter's wife Dejah Thoris being held as a prisoner.
