Xena saves the peasants of a small village from slaughter at the hands of Hector, a lieutenant of the cruel warlord Draco. The grateful villagers fear Xena's reputation and ask her to leave. Gabrielle, a spirited young member of the village pleads Xena to take her along on her journey. Xena refuses and leaves for her home in Amphipolis. Draco follows Xena and makes secret plans to destroy Amphipolis. The villagers of Amphipolis cannot forgive Xina for her sinful plast and believe she is in league with Draco. Gabrielle convinces them they are wrong. Draco and Xena battle until the superior fighting ability of the warrior princess defeats him. Gabrielle then joins Xena on her journeys.
