This listing includes five cup magnets made of grade 8 ceramic magnet encased inside of a steel cup. The steel cup is chrome plated with a shiny finish. The magnet and the steel cup form a magnetic circuit which triples the holding power to 50 LB direct pull on a solid steel surface. The steel cup also provides protection to the magnet so it becomes much more durable. The outer diameter of the magnet is 2.4" (60 mm) with 0.27" (6.5 mm) center hole (for a Â¼" screw). The total thickness is 0.35" (8 mm). This magnet can be used for magnetic holding lifting antenna mounting positioning retrieving and much more. Actual performance may vary depending on the variables like friction, gravity, lubrication, and surface. For horizontal applications, the performance will be close to the listed pull force. For vertical placement, performance may vary 15-30% of the listed pull force.
