The Dwarf Powder Puff Plant, Calliandra haematocephala is an easy to grow semi tropical shrub that matures at about 3 feet tall. Beginning in the late spring, it is covered with bright red puff balls that are very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies. Needs uniform moisture and does best in full sun. Recommended for USDA Zones 9, 10, 11. For the best year round appearance and longest life, cold protection is recommended in all zones.
