This is a pewter pendant from our Ancient Rune collection. This is the TYR rune which is 7/8 inches long by 5/8 inches wide and comes with a black adjustable cord necklace. The pewter also has a slight hammered look, a feature of higher priced pewter and sterling. TYR is the Rune of victory. It points to success in competition. Around 200 B.C. the Nordic tribes of northern Europe devised these Rune symbols to represent the forces of nature. It was believed the by picking the appropriate Rune, the wearer could harness the power the Rune represented.
