This easy to grow flower seeds forms annual plants that will grow 24 - 30 inches tall. Cornflower prefers well drained soils with morning sun, but will tolerate light shade especially in hotter climates. Direct sow flower seeds in early autumn to early winter in warm season zones and sow in spring 1 to 2 weeks before frost season is over in colder zones. Cornflower is considered to be a drought tolerant plant with minimal water needs.
