This Columbine is marked by spurless, double pink to green flowers which are a trademark of Aquilegia Nora Barlow. It is one of the few with double flowers and no spurs. A trait that most Columbines are known for. Once Nora Barlow begins blooming, expect small clusters of pink flowers for 4 to 6 weeks. The flowers either face outwards or are nodding. Removing spent flowers helps to promote new flower growth. Plant Nora Barlow Columbine in full sun to partial shade in fertile, moist well drained soil. If planted in full sun, mid day shade during summer heat helps to keep the plant vigorous. Most varieties of Columbines are profuse self seeders yielding a new crop of volunteers the following spring. Collected seeds produced from hybrid plants my not hold true in form to their parents. The Nora Barlow can easily be grown from seed.
