Product Review
An old fashioned favorite, four o-clocks are fast growing bushy plants which are easy to grow from wild flower seed. They grow to about 36 inches tall and are covered with trumpet shaped, fragrant flowers that are attractive to hummingbirds. Flowers may be shades of red, pink, yellow, white or striped. Mirabilis flowers do not open until the late afternoon, and they are a wonderful addition to an evening garden. The plant will grow as an annual in all zones, and will be a perennial in frost free zones. Four o' clocks thrive in ordinary soil in full sun or partial shade, sending up numerous volunteer seedlings every year (even in cold parts of the country.) These wild flower seeds may be sewn directly into the garden in the spring in warm areas. In other areas, start the seeds indoors about eight weeks before the final frost date in spring for transplanting. These seeds are poisonous.

- DENSE, SHRUB-LIKE GROWTH FOR LANDSCAPES: Growing 18–36 inches tall and spreading just as wide, our perennial plants develop lush foliage that enhances borders, flower beds, and pathways. Their compact, multi-branched structure fills garden gaps, creates colorful edges, or forms a seasonal hedge. With dense, leafy growth, they add texture and depth to any outdoor space.
- GROWS WELL IN SUN OR SHADE & DIVERSE CLIMATES: Flourishing in full sun to partial shade, they grow as perennial flowers in USDA Zones 8–10 and as annuals in cooler areas. As one of the great additions of flower seeds to plant outside, they tolerate various environments and soil types, making them a versatile choice for gardeners looking to add lasting beauty to their outdoor spaces.
- ATTRACTS POLLINATORS: Fragrant blooms draw hummingbirds, butterflies, and moths, creating a lively, pollinator-friendly space. Their late-afternoon blooming habit makes them suitable for evening gardens, patios, and seating areas, where their rich colors and soothing scent enhance the ambiance, adding beauty and life to your outdoor setting.
- EASY PLANTING & LOW-MAINTENANCE: Sow 2 perennial seeds per plant at a 1/4-inch depth, spacing them 12–24 inches apart in well-drained soil. Our four o'clock seeds require minimal care, naturally keep deer away, and their self-seeding habit ensures they return yearly in the right environment, making them a great choice for perennial flower seeds for planting outdoors.
