The Ti is a beautiful and striking ornamental plant used in landscaping here in Hawaii. Skirts of our hula dancers are made from the leaves. The leaves are large and glossy. Children playing in rain forests use the leaves as mats for sliding down slippery and muddy hills. These Hawaiian Ti "logs" can be planted in a pot or in the ground. Growing instructions: cut waxed ends off and plant in potting soil mixed with perlite. Keep moist and in a partially shaded location until roots and leaves are produced. You can also start them in water. Gradually move into full sun. Water daily. If climate is too hot (above 85 degrees), the ti plant will do better in partial shade. These Ti "logs" come from a certified Hawaiian nursery and contain the Department of Agriculture stamp You can accept them with confidence that they are pest-free and approved for export to the U.S.
